...and more tomorrow. It's been very cool, very stressful, some nice set visits from actors not yet called to set just to see what's happening, and Bob is not melting down. I'm really happy about that. Looking forward to tomorrow, but needing sleep.

A great first day of filming! The performances by David Lawrence, Michael Liu, the Barbershop Harmony Society, and Janard Cross we're stellar! David Lawrence steals the show with his hilarious Mr. Nugatorius! The crew worked incredibly hard, too, and, despite several glitches, we're only behind by about an hour - time we'll make up first thing tomorrow morning. I'm just delighted! Tomorrow promises to be difficult however -- lots of people to coordinate (the gospel choir) and our main singers Scat Springs and Cissy Crutcher are introduced. Also Leslie Ellis (as the mystical Eudaimonia) "floats" in tomorrow. Boy, we Do have a full plate! More later!

Just returned from vacation at Carolina Beach in Wilmington, NC with my family. It was a relaxing and creative time - must be the ocean. I finally wrote the screenplay that's been rolling around in my mind for years. I'm calling it: "The New, True, Charlie Wu." Its the story of a young guy who is stuck in a job he hates. One night he has a dream and conjures up an unusual set of characters that through situation and song, lead him to his authentic self. I'm thinking we might get a crew together and shoot it right here on Carolina Beach, NC over spring break 2009. Wonder if that's possible? We'll see. So another adventure in digital story telling begins. |
